365 Poems – 165 Removal (Rough First Draft)

It’s like I’m talking under glass.

I’ve learnt the true meaning

of disappointment.

We’ve gathered together every silence,

and sat with them for months.

If I could, I would swallow your hostility

like whisky, and smile.

I would persevere in gripping

onto you, believing we could

be a high powered possibility.

But I’m in a wiser mood today.

I discover there has been a ghost

following me all morning. I know her.

Carefully, I remove myself from your life.
